Privacy policy
This site is run by Smallholder Gate Editorial. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We collect as little as we can.
What we collect
Contact form. If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject and message. These details are sent to us by email through our email provider, Resend. We use them only to reply to you.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address. The newsletter uses double opt-in: you get one confirmation email and are only added once you confirm. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing [email protected].
Consent choice. Your cookie choice is stored in your own browser. It is the only thing this site stores there.
What we do not do
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. We do not sell personal information. The checklist on the Rate your coop page and the search on the home page run in your browser, and your answers are not sent to us or saved.
Hosting and service providers
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the technical connection data needed to deliver pages to your device. Fonts and images are served from this site's own domain.
Cloudflare and Resend may process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use them only to run the site, send contact messages and send the newsletter.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry. We keep newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a privacy request or complaint, email [email protected] or use the contact form.
If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page.
